Vegan Mofo Day 2:Peanut Butter Bomb Cake

So last week was my older brother Daniel's birthday.Daniel's really great and all,but probably the most exciting part of his birthday was that I got to make him a cake.Mainly because he's not so thrilled about his birthday for some reason so there wasn't much else to be excited about.Anyways,2 days before his birthday I had gone to Olympia to visit Jane and see some other friends.I was thinking that I could just stay there or go to Portland or something until Isa came up later in the week and I could be even more spontaneous and fun.BUT then I talked to my mom on the phone and she was like "so are you making Daniel a cake for his birthday?"and all of a sudden I was back to a somewhat original plan of trying to take the bus back from Seattle the following day.I knew that I would be making Daniel a peanut butter bomb cake, just like last year and many times in the past, but I had a Garfield the cat shaped pan I wanted to use and was incredibly excited about making the cake all Garfield-y and peanut butter and chocolate Garfield stripes, etc etc,but then I baked the cake part of the cake and it came out wonderfully, but there was no way that you could tell it was Garfield.Sure a blob,or sure a cat,yet a dog,a dingo, anything with pointed ears or somewhat blob shaped, but it didn't really scream Garfield. But I wasn't too worried about it,atleast it was non-sunk,tender crumbed, chocolate cake. And it was soon to become peanut butter bombed.I made some peanut butter bombed.I decorated with a thin layer and huge balls of peanut butter frosting, smothered that in chocolate ganache, and added some melted chocolate ontop of the ganache because I felt like there wasn't enough. Then I decorated with some organic chocolate sprinkles and salted peanuts.

Oh,and during Daniel's birthday dinner,at this Greek place called Stepho's,I didn't eat rather than have a crap meal or pita bread,so I offered to walk to Capers to get Dan some veganaise and hand soap. And he gave me money to buy it and I went and came back and gave him his money and the stuff and had paid for it and felt really nice about what i had done for him and the I was getting coffee at this place down the street and i don't remember the name but they called it like,an urban eatery, and they had bean around the world coffee(good)and let you add the water to americanos yourself, and have soymilk at the litte lid station,so it was a good place, anyways, this old lady starts asking me about the coffee i got,how strong it is,how weak hers is,etc etc and then about putting cinnamon in coffee and told me i should try it and that she doesn't know how to use a coffee maker(i don't either, sshhh)so she goes out for coffee and then i was like, hey i have to go and she says oh well next time you can just tell me to mind my own business, and she was really sweet.Okay, anyways, here's more cake.
