So i was reading the summer 2007 issue of martha stewart living and decided i needed to make a tall, delicious carrot cake.so i made Carrot Cake with Toasted Walnut Cream Cheese Frosting.ahhhh!i'm eating some right now.so lovely.
i got a cake box from work to put it in,to be all fancy, but alas,it was too tall!
this is an adaptation of the coconut ginger macadmia carrot cake from vwav.
BUT i took out the coconut, added 1/4 cup of flour, replaced the crystallized ginger with 1/2 t of ginger powder, and used walnuts instead of macadamias.ahh!
too tall for box:

Now that's a nice cake! Martha is always great for inspiration, huh?
I LOOOOVE 'martha stewart living' magazine - and I'm loving that cake as well :0)
loverly cake! i know how you feel about not being able to get cakes into boxes. seems like the cakes are always barely (or not!) making it into those durn boxes. of course, that was also before the purchase of these AWESOME and totally necessary items:

btw, where do you get your cardboard cake boxes? i happen to have a specialty cake shop around where i live, but i was wondering where other ppl get theirs.
ahhh sorry. the links were messed up. anyhoo, you're prolly already familiar with the items anyways. they were the 3-in-1 cake caddy and the round caddy for round cakes and such. sorry again!
Nice! I get a lot of inspiration from the back issue of MSL that my grandma gives me.
