Vegan MoFo Day#23-Peanut Butter and Jelly Sammich and 49th Parallel Espresso!

pb&j and soy cortado made with 49th parallel epic espresso,el beit, brooklyn.

how's about a silly product review?!
here we have a peanut butter and jelly sammich on amy's bread fro elbeit,a coffee shop,in williamsburg.
they serve 49th parallel coffee-roasted in vancouver, supplier to caffe artigiano, basically the best coffee roasters in vancouver.ben and i,when i volunteered at,and he worked for earthsave canada, would go to almost everyday.
it's an amazing cafe,too,try the siphon coffee,even though it's $7.
BUT we're not in vancouver,we're in new york,nd we're talking about peanut butter, too.
anyways,i felt ridiculous buying a pb&j but i mean, when else would i enjoy the novelty of feeling at home in vancouver with espresso and ordering a pb&j?so i got it.grape jelly, crunchy peanut butter, sourdough bread i'm pretty sure,so it was interesting, really good,i mean, its kinna hard to eff up a pb&j.

the cortado was good too.espresso was really chocolate-y,bittersweet,more of a cocoa nib essence.better than the last time i visited.but,i mean, didn't compare to the shop in vancouver.i rarely talk about how great things are in vancouver,i mean,it's not my favourite place, but the coffee from 49th parallel was a lot better than at el beit.not bad, though.

Vegan MoFo Day#6-Peanut Butter & Coffee pt.2-Peanut Butter-Tasting Coffee?!

guatemala
clover-brewed guatemalan @ cafe grumpy(chelsea)

well...not quite.though this cup of coffee, which was one of the first roasts actually roasted by cafe grumpy themselves was delicious,it didn't taste like peanut butter,i thought that it juuuust might since it was described as having a:
"peanut brittle"
peanut brittle sweetness.

and it totally did-the cup had a salty/sweet sweetness and aftertaste that was was slightly spicy and warming, like cinnamon, and very nutty, and really, the 'peanut brittle' comparison was spot-on.
so,while no,the coffee didn't taste like drinking peanut butter,it shred many qualities that peanut butter beholds, and was incredibly enjoyable nonetheless.i'm actually really excited to try more roasts that grumpy is doing themselves!
and who knows, maybe one day i'll come across a cup of coffee that does taste like drinking liquid peanut butter.for better or worse.
