Vegan MoFo Day#4-PB&J Malt!!!and More Peanut Butter Ice Cream

PB&J Malt.
pb&j ice cream
strawberry ice cream
malt powder
from lula's sweet apothecary.

this was basically like the best thing i've ever drank.and when i was in 11th grade i went through a phase where every single day after school i would make super thick smoothies with like 2-3 bananas, medjool dates,a TON of peanut butter and a lot of vanilla or chocolate soymilk, and always thought that those were the best thing to drink ever, but this was way better.zedohmygawd.

but that wasn't all of the ice cream this weekend.or peanut butter ice cream.
so that was saturday, and really,i was supposed to go have a sundae on friday, but didn't because i ended up doing this

and a few other things instead,so i went back to lula's on sunday for sundae sunday, which is when brad and his 'posse' all get sundaes.
sundae sunday!
peanut butter fudge ice cream,strawberry ice cream,cake batter softserve,whipped cream,maraschino cherry,sprinkles,and a singular ginger newman-o.simple!

sundae sunday!
melty.

sundae sunday!
like a pb&j with chocolate?

peanut butter fudge
because this post is supposed to be just peanut butter:close up of peanut butter fudge.

thick shake.
this was a (thick)strawberry-cake batter shake.

mmm.

okay.well then.i will have more posts about peanut butter and ice cream during mofo,so watchout.oh and sammiches.sammiches and ice cream.

Vegan MoFo Day#3-Peanut Butter & Coffee Pt.1-Stumptown,PDX,NYC,Jess,and Basically Being Really Vegan.

soy cappuccino & peanut butter-ed banana @ stumptown,ace hotel,nyc
as you may know from previous posts and elsewhere,i really love good coffee and am kinna an amateur coffee nerd/snob/connoisseur,and obviously i really love peanut butter.so i am going to write about them both together.for vegan mofo i'll start a series of coffee and peanut butter and this will be part one.
obviously portland is a crazy vegan mecca but also stumptown coffee is from there,so i figure it'd be an appropriate place to start, especially since they just opened a stumptown in the new ace hotel here in nyc less than a month ago, which i wrote about here.

i think coffee and peanut butter go together.probably because i consume them everyday, not always together, but still, sometimes at the same time.i had a cappuccino at stumptown, which kinna made me feel out of my element since i would generally get just espresso,

like i did the previous morning since i didn't have class until 3,maybe a macchiato, but usually i like to keep it pure, and kind of felt like i was having dessert, but i guess that made it okay to do this...

sacrilege.but i did it for the vegans.

it was really good.hairbender is generally pretty bright and milk chocolate-y and and not as straightforward and bittersweet like blackcat(something popular and widely available...)tends to be,and had a pretty spicy, like cinnamon and clove, hints.

i enjoyed stumptown a lot the last 2 times i was in portland, and have had it at absolutely amazing places, such as barista, and most of the time i'd get coffee with jess, who basically is veganism in portland, who even has a website called stumptown vegans, and really everything just comes full circle and the whole entire world makes sense.yay!

oh yeah...

there was a breakfast in the lobby of the hotel.the lady let me have one.i guess because i had peanut butter?

Vegan MoFo Day #2-Peanut Butter Nostalgia:My Old Peanut Butter Shelf

my peanut butter shelf
my peanut butter shelf.
so,even though i live in new york now and am still peanut butter-ing it up,probably more than ever,i kind of miss the peanut butter shelf that i had amassed back in vancouver.living in a dorm now,i mean,i could still make room, but there's less room and time to amass such a shelf of such awe.maybe today i'll make a point of buying an exciting new/new brand of peanut butter that i've never had?
my current collection is 2 jars-1 maranatha crunchy organic & 1 peanut butter and co 'crunch time' natural no-stir.
despicable.

Vegan MoFoDay#1-Welcome Fall,Welcome Orange,Welcome Squash...oh yeah Welcome Vegan MoFo and Peanut Butter,too!

DSCF6607
that squash is steamed.
hi.welcome to my vegan mofo.
i am just going to write about peanut butter every single day,as per last year.cool and fun, huh?

baked squashes.
let's start with squash and peanut butter.this is baked kabocha squash-my personal favourite squash.

it's in season right now,and until march or so,but I buy and cook them all year, and was actually eating squash all summer.they last forever, too, and all you have to do to cook it is split them in half, take out the guts, and bake at 400 degrees for 35-60 minutes until jucies come out and is bright orange and smells amazing.

i like to eat kabocha squash with peanut butter, specifically.
this is kabocha squash with sea salt, crunchy peanut butter, banana and flame raisins.kind of like a sammich, with the skin as the bread.or something?kinna weird to most people, but try it!

also...

kabocha and on a log.
like regular ants on a long, but a different long orange vegetable.and yeah, okay,a lot of the time ants on a log is on celery, but carrots, too!

best first thing to eat(besides the coffee)when getting to new york.

from lula's sweet apothecary,of course.

hi.i moved to nyc for school a few weeks ago,and have been really busy and still will be,but i thought i'd share some sweet stuff that's been going on.yay!

2nd time at lula's-in a big cup.probably my new all time favourite-the pb&j that is.
sweet n salty with just enough jam, zedohmygawd.

banana split time
and third time's a charm;
banana split,pb&j ice cream, ginger molases ice cream, peanut butter fudge ice cream, cookies n cream ice cream
whizzers(vegan m&ms),1 crushed ginger newman o,whipped cream,maraschino cherry,banana

brad.

not mine...
cherry.

i also went to stogo

i had peanut butter fudge and salted caramel pecan.
i was really excited b/c they had soem pretty excitied flavours, but the peanut butter fudge was really watery and icy and i didn't want to finish it-shoulda sampled it first, that's what happened with the oatmeal raisin cookie flavour, which i really wanted.don't see how you could eff up a peanut butter ice cream, but whatever,at least the salted caramel one was good.

i've also been drinking a lot of coffee here;probably start a blog just for that soon.so here's a preview;
