so in my last post i mentioned that there was gonna be a party to celebrate the release of Vegan Cookies Invade Your Cookie Jar at Moo Shoes.and there was.last night.and it was really fun!

isa and terry were there,isa's jokes were unfunny but terry looked really great,so it made up for it.
thanks everyone who put it on,it was super great.there was a lot of cookies,but i decided to make peanut butter blondies(from the book)anyways:

but as i said there was 900 million types of cookies,and isa's mom was right that it was just "silly.but thoughtful."

Vegan MoFo Day#28-Peanut Butter & Soft Whole Wheat Fig Bars from the Upcoming Vegan Cookies Invade Your Cookie Jar!

remember when i wrote about peanut butter & fresh figs last week?and how i said dried vs. fresh is a totally different story?
well it is.dried figs are suuper chewy,seem like they have a bajillion more seeds,drier skin,less juicy,more intensely sweet,umm taste like candy and are just flat out amazing.

here,we have soft whole wheat fig bars from isa chandra moskowitz and terry hope romero's upcoming cookie book-vegan cookies invade your cookie jar-which should be out next month.i was a tester and wrote about these then-b/c i'v loved dried figs for a long time-surprisingly were my second favourite cookies from testing.they better than fig newton type cookies,and healthy,too.it's weird.i love the soft crust,crunchy and sticky and honey sweet filling,and how the fact that there's the top and bottom crust with a jam like layer in the centre totally screams"i'm like a fig jam sammich missing peanut butter,so come peanut butter me up!"
and that's just what i do.
